Quiet Cough Tincture was originally made with an amazing herb called Osha Root which was extremely effective for respiratory issues where there was a lot of mucous. However, this herb became endangered, so we decided to discontinue using it in order to protect its status. We never use herbs that are endangered.
We then reformulated the Quiet Cough Tincture to include some helpful herbs for cough and lung congestion but unfortunately some of these herbs are contraindicated for use by pregnant moms, nursing moms and kids (especially under the age of 4), as well as those with high blood pressure. Actually, I really don’t recommend it for any children regardless of their age as some of these herbs are quite powerful or have alkaloids that make it unsuitable for children.
Because a large percentage of our clients are either pregnant, nursing or have kids, I decided to research other herbs that are also fantastic for helping to calm and quiet coughs, to use as an expectorant, and to help keep the lungs clear and coughing to a minimum.
This product is called Calm Cough.
It is appropriate and safe for use by pregnant moms, nursing moms, kids and those with high blood pressure. Anyone can use it!
I tend towards lung congestion myself and have been using the Calm Cough for this purpose – as well as coughing fits that I tend to get when breathing air that’s too cold that gives me that annoying dry spot – and I’m very pleased with it! I might have another cough or two that’s productive and then it’s done.
Both tinctures work really well and the results are the same between the two, but the Calm Cough has more gentle herbs that have no contraindications and that are safe for anyone.
