Description

Shatavari is an Ayurvedic herb well-known for its ability to increase breastmilk production in nursing mothers.  It’s considered an “herbal Domperidone” and helps to get things flowing.

It helps increase the vital fluids in the body. It is the foremost Ayurvedic herb used as a reproductive tonic for both men and women, restores moisture to the lungs, respiratory tract, and digestive system, and an herb that helps one adapt and cope with stress.  It is rich in antioxidants and helps to promote healthy energy levels and strength.  Customers have also reported that Shatavari has helped them with their mood!

This is a great herb for breastfeeding mothers who wish to conceive again.  Vitex can be used along with it to help balance hormones to help make conception easier.

Shatavari is safe for use during pregnancy.

OF NOTE:

  • As Shatavari is of the asparagus family, do not use by those with asparagus allergies.
  • Asparagus (including Shatavari) may have some diuretic effects, so those on diuretic medications may want to avoid this herb.
  • Due to its ability to increase moisture to the digestive tract, it may cause loose stool in some.  To the opposite effect, it may also help to alleviate constipation in others.
  • Shatavari should not be used by those with celiac disease or other malabsorption issues, as this herb is a mucilage herb that can coat the intestinal lining causing medications or nutrients to not absorb as well. To prevent this, simply take your other herbs or medications three hours apart from Shatavari.

Certified Organic Shatavari Root.  The regular tincture is extracted in Certified Organic grape alcohol, and the non-alcohol version is extracted in Certified Organic vegetable glycerine and distilled water. All Herb Lore tinctures are non-GMO and are gluten-free, and are never, ever tested on animals.

Start with two (2) droppersful (squeezes) of the tincture three times a day.

Please note that although our herbs tend to work quickly, most lactation consultants suggest giving an herb (or herbal product) at least two weeks of use before switching to something else.

During this time, it is fine to experiment around with dosage amounts to see if that helps and makes a difference for you.  People's bodies and situations can all be very different, so go with what works for you.

For fertility and conception - use 2 droppersful 3 times each day.

NOTE:  A 1oz tincture typically lasts 1 week, a 2oz bottle for 2 weeks, and a 4oz bottle for 4 weeks, depending on use.

Your supplements have been wonderful for helping me increase my breastmilk production. Shatavari, in particular, shouldn’t be called the herbal Domperidone because it’s better than Domperidone. I’m on Domperidone too, and have had really horrible side effects. I’ve been slowly weaning off over 4 months (3 weeks to go! Hooray!). When I decrease my dose my milk supply temporarily goes down, unless I religiously take the Shatavari and then it’s fine!  I’ve taken just about every milk-increasing product out there, and Herb Lore products have worked the best!  A.O.
