Suggested Uses

Goat's Rue Suggested Uses

Start with two (2) droppersful (squeezes) of the tincture three times a day. Results may be seen within 12-24 hours. If the desired results are not achieved with this level, you may increase how often you take it (increase to 4 times a day, then 5 and so on, as needed) or increase the number of droppersful (squeezes) taken at a time.

There are no rules - it's ok to do what works best for you. Some women find that taking two droppersful of the tincture each time they sit down to nurse or pump does the trick for them, and this is perfectly fine to do.

If too much of the herb is taken, overfullness or engorgement may occur. If so, simply reduce the amount of herb you take until you find the right balance for you. The article Herbs to Increase Your Breastmilk Supply - the Summarized Version, listed under More Information, has further details.

Note: It is not recommended for women to start using herbs to increase breastmilk supply during pregnancy, as this could start milk production prematurely, risking the all-important colostrum period.  Wait until day 3 after giving birth, when breastmilk typically comes in, before deciding to use herbs to increase milk production.

As well as risking the colostrum, which is critically important for baby's life-long intestinal and digestive health, using herbs to increase milk production when they're not needed can cause engorgement, plugged ducts, or mastitis due to over-production.

Nursing Tincture Suggested Uses

Start with two (2) droppersful (squeezes) of the tincture three times a day. Results should be seen within 12-24 hours. If the desired results are not achieved with this level, you may increase how often you take it (increase to 4 times a day, then 5 and so on, as needed) or increase the number of droppersful (squeezes) taken at a time.

There are no rules - its ok to experiment and use the dosage that works for you. Some women find that taking two droppersful of the tincture each time they sit down to nurse or pump does the trick for them, and this is perfectly fine to do.

If too much of the herb is taken, over-fullness or engorgement may occur. If so, simply reduce the amount of herb taken until the right balance is found for you.

Shatavari Suggested Uses

Start with two (2) droppersful (squeezes) of the tincture three times a day.

Please note that although our herbs tend to work quickly, most lactation consultants suggest giving an herb (or herbal product) at least two weeks of consistent use before trying something different.

During this time, it is fine to experiment with dosage amounts to find what works best for you. People's bodies and situations can be very different, so go with what feels right.

NOTE:  A 1oz tincture typically lasts 1 week, a 2oz bottle for 2 weeks, and a 4oz bottle for 4 weeks, depending on use.

Moringa Suggested Uses

Use two (2) droppersful (squeezes) of the tincture three times a day.

If taking Moringa to increase breastmilk production, an increase should be seen within 12-24 hours.

If the desired results are not achieved with this level, you may increase how often you take it (increase to 4 times a day, then 5 and so on, as needed) or increase the number of droppersful (squeezes) taken at a time.

There are no rules - its ok to do whatever you find works for you.

For children as a nutritional supplement:  use the age-appropriate dose as suggested in the Children's Dosage Guide 2-3 times daily.

Testimonials

Thank you!!  I just put in an order for the Goat's Rue!  I have been getting desperate – I haven't had the results with the (other company) brand as I get with yours!!! CLV

I started buying the Nursing Tincture Moringa Blend because I was having big problems breastfeeding my first baby. By the time I tried your product I had been working with a lactation consultant and tried various other products…nothing was really working…until a neighbor suggested your tincture. We tried it and it worked!  He nursed until he was 4 years old (he is now almost 13, 5′.9″ and very healthy). I later tandem nursed him and my second baby while pregnant with my third son.  So very grateful for you!  DG

Hi Pam,  I’m so happy to have found your products, the Nursing Tincture in particular works really well. I was afraid that going back to work would make my milk supply drop which is one of the main reasons I bought it. It’s actually making me over-produce now and has allowed me to save up a really nice stash in my freezer for my son. I’m trying to decrease my supply now for my morning pump as I have a lot of milk (sometimes 30oz in one morning).  Do you have any suggestions on how I can safely reduce my supply without totally diminishing it?  Thank you, A.S.   (Yes, Sage Tincture helps to gently decrease milk supply, or simply cut back or stop using the Nursing Tincture if your supply is adequate.  You may not have need of it any more!)

Your supplements have been wonderful for helping me increase my breastmilk production. Shatavari, in particular, shouldn’t be called the herbal Domperidone because it’s better than Domperidone. I’m on Domperidone too, and have had really horrible side effects. I’ve been slowly weaning off over 4 months (3 weeks to go! Hooray!). When I decrease my dose my milk supply temporarily goes down, unless I religiously take the Shatavari and then it’s fine!  I’ve taken just about every milk-increasing product out there, and Herb Lore products have worked the best!  A.O.
